Aug 15, 2019 at 20:08 comment added bhapi @psitae although I suppose that maybe it's more of a theoretical description so maybe if the books were more practically inclined they wouldn't discuss it as much. But this is $|0\rangle \otimes |0 rangle =|00\rangle$ is a tensor description of $|00\rangle$. It just means that we put the entries of $|0\rangle$ is two matrices $1.|0\rangle$ $0,|1\rangle$ . Some good books that talk about it are quantum computing explained by Derak macmahon and also Cohen and Tanouji
Aug 15, 2019 at 19:47 comment added bhapi @psitae I didn't think a source was necessary every book I've read on quantum computing involves tensor notation and it's thought that way in college. If you know that you can describe a circuit using matrices then tensor notation is just away of describing adjoining matrices. You'll see it here quantiki.org/wiki/quantum-gates or here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_logic_gate.
