I am a PhD student focused on the interdisciplinary technology studies at the University of Southampton - specifically I am working with interdisciplinary conceptualisations of memory.
I have been called an information magpie and a weird encyclopaedia, and have learnt that many people within single disciplines can find my approach unorthodox. This can result in highly critical responses, but as an interdisciplinary scholar I have learnt to work with these and I am now studying for my fifth interdisciplinary degree (ranging from law to art to computer science) and retain a lifelong interest in the biological sciences. I don't expect to understand the detail of everything I study - but rather I look for interactions and their implications. I can interpret some of these myself, but in other cases I have to hope that someone else might be interested in exploring them further.
