Cirq compilation process.

I cannot find the documentation that describes the internal structure of the library Cirq by Google.

There is much information related to high level functions, but none related to the compiler step and how the circuit is decomposed, and translated to an Intermediate Representation. If someone knows, where to find this information it would be very helpful?

Circuit compilation is done with cirq.optimize_for_target_gateset. the method takes as an input a target gate set (e.g. cirq.CZTargetGateset) which dictates the flow of translation. Generally the compilation depends the cirq.decompose protocol in order to breakdown gates to the target gateset.
