My friend and I have been debating if buying a quantum processor (Like the Google Sycamore Processor) would A) Be practical in price and B) Would it be good for gaming. I don't see any pricing on the processor, and I would love to know a ballpark estimate of how much one would be.

$\begingroup$ Hi Max, unfortunately, QC.SE isn't really the place for this kind of question as it is difficult to give a non-opinion-based answer to this, perhaps Twitter or Reddit is a more appropriate forum. But my two cents would be that such a processor would be exceedingly expensive and completely useless for most things you want a computer for let alone gaming. In fact, you can't even reliably implement simple adders on current state of the art quantum processors, see quantumcomputing.stackexchange.com/questions/26289/… $\endgroup$

  • $\begingroup$ @Condo to be honest, this doesn't seem particularly opinion-based to me. If it was asking whether quantum computers will every be useful for gaming, then I'd agree with you, but it seems to me like it's asking whether that is the case right now, which makes the answer a very obvious resounding no, as you yourself pointed out. $\endgroup$
